Google Zeitgeist 2010: Business, What Business?

I’m always entertained by Google’s annual Zeitgeist list of rising/falling queries of the previous year. Here is Google’s 2010 list of rising queries:

And here are the fastest falling ones (sorry, no graph):

My main takeaway? How completely business, finance and the economy are absent from the searching mindset. Yes, Wamu was a declining query in 2010, but it wasn’t a hot search query in 2009, so is mostly about a dead brand.

By way of comparison, check the 2009 Google Zeitgeist list of top rising/falling queries, followed by the 2008 list of rising queries. Apparently that whole global financial crisis thing didn’t have people search for guns, ammo and canned food after all — now or then.
