I asked the folks at Tableau recently to help me put together a graphic showing the transformation of the venture capital industry over the last few decades. The resulting interactive figure, which you can see below, shows how VC has changed over time, with the industry now split between low-capital & high-capital (call it IT vs. clean/bio), as well as changing over time, with a kind of mezzanine late-stage fund emerging.
