The U.S. Energy/Entertainment Economy: 1959-2010

A graph I put together for an upcoming talk showing the ratio of consumer energy spending to entertainment spending in the U.S. since 1959. With the exception of 1977-1980, energy spending had been progressively displaced by entertainment spending over the half-century, until things turned in 2002.
