The BMW 3-Series, Then and Now

Further to the active discussion on changing Honda Accord sizes over time, here is a (Wikipedia) stat on the BMW 3-series length over time/models:

E30 (1980): 171.9 inches

E90 (2009): 181 inches

The 3-series has grown by almost ten inches over the last thirty years. By way of comparison, the BMW 5-series (E28) in 1982 was 181.9 inches, or roughly the same length as today’s 3-series.
