Me Media: AIG on Marketplace

I did a two-minute commentary today (Monday) on American Public Media’s fine Marketplace radio program about AIG’s bonus payment mess. Check your local NPR station, etc.

My take won’t surprise anyone who reads this site. The gist: I think the bonus payments are offensive and nonsensical. While they are a sideshow given the amount of money that has gone in to AIG, maintaining electoral support requires being a hardliner on bonuses — or things called bonuses — when market participants vandalize the economy and then demand payment.
