Random Economic Factoids: Dentists, Valentines, PF Chang’s, etc.

Some random and entirely anecdotal street-level economic factoids:

  • My dentist’s office is crazy busy. It is, an assistant says, mostly people worried about the economy and so getting all their dental work done right now.
  • PF Chang’s CEO said in a conference call last night that judging by sales trends the economy’s  “lights went out in December”
  • We were able to obtain Valentine’s Day reservations at almost any top restaurant in La Jolla for tonight, despite only calling yesterday. In previous years that required booking weeks in advance. (Yes, I know I should have booked weeks in advance.)

Feel free to add your own.
