A Brief Math-Linguistic Digression

I just need to get this off my chest, so I’ll post it here and be done. I’m a fan of Bob Pisani at CNBC, so this has nothing to do with him, but math-linguistic constructions like the following bother me:

Not when the November durable goods figure is revised downward MORE THAN 100 PERCENT, from a drop of 1.5 percent to 3.7 percent.
