Milgram Musing: Repeating History, etc.
Earlier I posted a link to a disconcerting study showing that, in a re-enacted Milgram obedience experiment, people are as willing to inflict pain on strangers as ever. It doesn't get any discussion in the paper, but what struck me almost as much was that only five of seventy-six screened non-psych-major study participants had ever heard of the Milgram experiment.
It's likely just me being elitist and worrying too much, but that is as disturbing as the study's core obedience/pain findings.
