Question: Longest Distance from a Road in U.S.?

By Paul Kedrosky · Friday, August 15, 2008 ·

Quick question for folks: Anyone know the longest distance you can be from a road in the contiguous U.S. (thus excluding Alaska)? My guess today was 2 miles, which some people thought low.

Anyone have a source or better info?

Update: My Twitter friends have speedily come up with answer. It's apparently 20 miles. See here.
