Microsoft/Yahoo: Better to Buy Salesforce, Omniture and Facebook?
More and more people are coming to the fore clamoring for Microsoft to find something better to do with its $40-billion earmarked for acquiring Yahoo. The NY Post summarizes things, including this quote from an analyst:
"Salesforce.com at 100 percent premium is $12 billion, Omniture at 100 percent premium is $3 billion; and that leaves $30 billion to acquire Facebook."

When finding companies to buy, it helps if the purchase at least compliments the current aims if not offerings of a company. In this regard Salesforce makes as much sense as Chrysler. An even better choice would be my own company which would cost a measly $1 million.

Yup that combination is a MUCH better idea than Yahoo!. Salesforce in particular would be a great buy for MSFT right about now, while they're at it they could buy the rest of the SaaS public companies for under $20 billion total.
Not sure if Facebook would really sell for only $30 billion, I'm sure Peter Thiel thinks they're worth $1 trillion now.
