Google: The Ad/Economy Earnings Connection
With Google and Yahoo in the earnings cross-hairs, everyone is asking about the connection between advertising spending and the changes in the broader economy. Anyone who says there is no connection -- and there are those who makes that case -- have their work cut out for them.

Paul could you plot online advertising spending instead of just advertising spending? Perhaps offline marketers are going online for the "better ROI." I realize you may have data going back to the 80s.









I'd be curious to see how the auction system for advertising is affected.
