Fun with CFO Data via the SEC
SEC Commissioner Chris Cox announced on Friday a fun new tool for comparing executive compensation at U.S. public companies. Built on the XBRL reporting standard that he is steadfastly supporting in its ongoing roll out, you can compare executive compensation at 500 U.S. public companies.
Just for fun, I decided to find out who is the best paid non-CEO, non-CFO executive in America, among, of course, the subset of companies reporting using XBRL. The answer: They're all in the financial services industry, and mostly at Merrill, headlined by Bob McCann at Merrill, Ahmass Fakany at Merrill, and Greg Fleming at Merrill, none of whom earned less than $30m in 2006.
Entertaining stuff.
