Religion and Business Don't Mix
Religion and business don't mix, at least not well and not on Fridays at the Wall Street Journal. Case in point: A semi-innocent question asked on the work-life balance blog at the WSJ having to do with finding time in a two-career, multi-kid modern family for Sunday service. I have no interest in religion but I always find it funny when people say that they don't go to church because they are too busy. Either you believe that your fundamental purpose is defined by God (in which case you should make time at almost any cost) or you do not, in which case you shouldn't make any time for religion at all. "Too busy to live up to my ultimate purpose" is a pretty illogical point of view, IMHO. (perhaps there are religions out there in which God exists but does not define your ultimate purpose but he certainly does in Christianity!)
That said, I understand that people have many reasons for going to church and they don't always correspond to the stated reason for the church's existence.

Just wait until the next recession, and we'll see about that ;)
