At the Other Davos

Little did I know, but I'm apparently currently at Davos. No, not that Davos, the other Davos: the North American Venture Capital Summit here in Quebec City, Canada, now fancies itself the Davos of the venture capital set.

Here's the story:

Since the first [North American Venture Capital Summit] was organized in 2001, the summit has steadily grown in size and in popularity. Last night and today more than 300 venture capitalists from Canada, the United States and around the world are gathering to build networks and discuss how to take new ideas and turn them into profitable businesses.

"This conference is becoming the Davos of the international venture capital community," said summit co-founder Stephen Hurwitz, from Boston law firm Choate Hall & Stewart LLP.
