San Diego Fire Update: 513,000 Evacuees
While things have quieted down around my area of town, the fires continue unabated in other parties of the city of San Diego, as well as across San Diego county. The most shocking statistic? This one: An estimated 513,000 San Diego County residents are currently under mandatory evacuation orders. That is a staggering number, making this among the largest evacuations in recent U.S. history, perhaps second only after Hurricane Katrina.
