  1. Actually, as a group, economists have predicted zero of the last 5 recessions. (Pretty shabby)
    On the other hand, the public, when surveyed, are the ones who forecast 9 of the past 4 recessions . . .

    Barry Ritholz has probably forecasted 99 of the last 1 recession. The bromide about a stopped watch is appropriate here …
