Vail Goes RFID
You know, I need to invest in more companies that sell to ski resorts. I got to thinking the preceding this morning on the news that Vail has partnered with SkyeTek to provide RFID technology for automated lift pass scanning this coming ski season.I look forward to saying things like, "Yeah, I'm up at Vail doing diligence this week. Am making sure this RFID reader works well during a big powder dump in the Back Bowls."

indeed!
In the Patagonian powder last week in Bariloche we decided we needed a real-time, open-data mapping of the (now commonly electronic) lift pass data. In the evening you can sit around the bar and review your best runs of the day; see who got the most miles before 10am. (we'll have a mobile view, natch). Plot your whole season across all resorts.
I'm going to assign myself the QA role for this one.
