AAPL Announcements: Best Live Coverage
Lots of live coverage everywhere of today's AAPL product launch event -- new iPods, etc. -- but in the absence of macrumorslive I'm sticking withAs a fun aside, I'm hoping to have a nifty live video link for folks shortly.
[Update] I'm not doing live coverage, but I have to point out that Apple initially announced ... wait for it ... ringtones. Yeesh. What's more, Jobs has shed his customary black mock-turtleneck for earthtones. Earthtones and ringtones, maybe it's a theme.
[Update ^2] AAPL shares are currently off about 2% on the news, which some are interpreting as meaning that the new Apple products aren't up to snuff. I disagree, at least so far. Given that most of the stuff shown so far was previously tipped, and given that the stock was up almost 15% in the last five days, today's decline shouldn't be a complete surprise. Buy the rumor, sell the news still rules ... mostly.

Out of curiosity, why did you switch from Engadget to Gizmodo for your live coverage?
Hey Matt --
Primary reasons: Gizmodo was faster, gave more frequent updates, and reverse-sorted the updates so I didn't have to scroll to the bottom to find the most recent post.
I wish macrumorslive.com had been live -- refreshing tabs for updates on a live event is barbaric -- but Gizmodo was the best of the remaining lot.
Music to my ears... we were hosting the Gizmodo live blog on WordPress.com. :)
The stock didn't react very nicely to today's news. I'm not sure if the reaction was more of a sell the news type of trade, or people selling on the iPhone price cut. Time will tell I guess.

except the real news is they are discounting the "hot" selling iphone.
