Quants Ate My Subprime
Fun, fear-mongering piece about "killer quants" in today's WashPost. The gist: Quants are bad, or not, maybe, except when their models don't work, which they do, sometimes, except when the moon is full and subprime is in the sign of Aquarius. My favorite part, as always, is how no quants would comment. Don't they realize the best way to get publicity is to not seek publicity? Maybe they do get it, the cagey bastards.
The press-shy Simons would not comment for this article, and a Renaissance spokesman could not be reached for a comment.
