Eric + Apple + Ubiquisys + Auction = iPhone 2.0

I’m likely just dreaming here, but wouldn’t it be nice if Google’s just-announced investment in Ubiquisys was the precursor to a contract-free iPhone 2.0 that offered voice services via femtocell nets in  home and business? After all, Google reminded folks last night on the c/call that it’s interested in wireless telephony, but only of the non-walled-garden variety, and Eric is on the Apple board, and today we hear Google may bid $4.6b on wireless spectrum, so … iPhone 2.0!

A guy can dream, can’t he?
