Tales from the Private Equity Bubble: Bringing Augusta to Sand Hill
Tidbit from a Kara Swisher interview with Roger McNamee of Elevation Partners: During the piece (at 1:58) he points through his window to a single golf hole right outside his office built by private equity guy George Roberts of Kohberg Kravis Roberts fame.[Roberts] is a private equity guy and he can afford to bring up the entire grounds crew from the August National Country Club, and they literally brought sod and sand from August National and put it back here. As far as I can tell, no-one's ever been on it.

The fawning over the evolution partners logo is straight outta "Spinal Tap". They shoulda put an umlaut in there somewhere...
Something I don't get: Roger says he's not a PE guy like Roberts, but he later says he's not a VC anymore? Has he created his own category of one? What is he?
