VC Investing Factoids from Q1

Some Q1 VC investing factoids, as sent to me by a colleague:

  1. Q1 07 was biggest single quarter by dollars since Q4 01
  2. Q1 07 biotech dollars was biggest single quarter ever and roughly equal to all of 1997
  3. the usual 80/20 split of dollars late vs early stage shifted in 84/16 in Q1 07.  This is a number that has been steady for a long time so any change is noticeable
