EQO: More Portfolio Pimping

In the spirit of talking up recent Ventures West investee RapidMind earlier in the week, I should give equal time to today's newly-announced investee, EQO. The one's my colleague Sam Znaimer's, and the CEO is the estimable Bill Tam, who has built an impressive mobile VoIP/IM client and Skype bridge -- and has much bigger plans as well.

More at TechCrunch, but file this in the category of one of my favorite topics, why the PC of the future is the cellphone.

Hi, Paul,

Interesting service. I'd like to try it out, but Palm support is a little weird. The site claims that the Palm 680 is supported, but requires a download of an IBM-provided JVM. Unfortunately, this doesn't appear to work, as the vendor page doesn't list the 680 as being supported.

And in any case, it requires a connection with a PC or a Mac, as opposed to a direct over-the-air installation, as with other models. My desktop is Ubuntu.

I've sent a request to support@ and through the "device support" form. I'm curious to see how long it takes.
