Canadian Venture Forum, & Shrinkage
I'm heading up to Toronto from La Jolla tomorrow to give a talk at the Canadian Venture Forum. It's currently 22 C here in La Jolla, while it's apparently going to be around -20 C (or colder with windchill) when I land late tomorrow in Toronto, Canada. Were I made of steel -- assuming, in other words, a linear expansion coefficient of around 11x10-6 -- that would mean I'm going to be be around 1mm shorter or so on landing.Unnerving thought, but there's shrinkage for you.
