Yahoo's Announcement & the Shorter Sue Decker

Like Mike, I make it about two paras into this major Yahoo restructuring announcement before serious MEGO (My Eyes Glaze Over) sets in over all the corporate speak. Oye.

As usual in these important cases -- and this is a major announcement -- I have decided to enlist the assistance of Microsoft Word's autosummarize feature. Here is the shorter Sue Decker dialed back to 2% of the original:
1. Demand Channels: focused on providing marketing solutions to our advertising customers
Marketing Solutions (Demand Channels). Yahoo! Publisher Network (Supply Channels). Marketing Products Division (MPD).
Well, it's still inscrutable corporate speak, but at least it's shorter inscrutable corporate speak.

Either way, the bottom line seems to be that Yahoo has announced who will head up the three groups within the company's previously formed ad sales division. And beyond that ... well, let's just say that the company could be announcing that everyone is taking the year off and no-one would be the wiser.

Quick extraction of some meaning:
- Decker gets rid of Panama chief Mitgang.

Whoops - link should be here

I prefer to just monitor the YSM forum at WebmasterWorld. But there is an existing background level of grousing and complaining that must be factored in before drawing any conclusions on how Panama is going...

But at least it is way more interesting than a Yahoo memo.

"incredibly excited ... amazing assets ... tremendously talented teams. Now, it’s game time!"

Same old game. I can see how she made her way to the top: mastery of left-coast corporate bullshit. Talk straight or walk, honey.

Sue Decker is a wonderful human being. Really. I sat next to her at the opera the other night and held her hand. Very soft skin. Lovely eyes. She was there with her husband, but very flirty. I really like her.
