Sun Shines on KKR
Interesting news tonight that KKR has made a senior convertible debt investment at Sun, as well as taking a board seat. Conversion price is $7.21, versus Sun's close today of $5.66.

I have another post up on this on the main page.
street cred? Why would IT guys take their cues from buyout artists? I would take Roth IRA advice from them but not who to buy my servers from. I wonder if there is anything LBO able in the sun micro business portfolio? kkr could also be brokering a tie up with someone like ncr or eds...follow the money...

Anybody have any idea about this? Why would a company with four billion in cash want 700 million? How does Sun benefit? I can speculate -- connections KKR can give to other companies to further Sun's growth, Sun keeping alive an option to privatize -- but I don't feel certain at all.
