SEC’s Full-Employment Act for Activist Funds

The SEC has just brought in a new rule that is a kind of full-employment act for activist hedge funds. The regulator has decreed that proxy solicitations can now happen quickly, cheaply, and electronically, which will mean, almost certainly, significant growth in the number of such proxies initiated by smaller hedgies.
