Dogs and Cats, Calacanis to Sequoia

Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together - mass hysteria.
     - Ghostbusters (1984)
Well, the entrepreneurial end is apparently nigh. Jason Calacanis is joining venture firm Sequoia Capital. Sure, he's an "EIA" (no, not Energy Information Administration, but Entrepreneur in Action), not a partner, but it's still a fascinating and typically ballsy move on Sequoia's part.

[Update] As an aside, if you're at a venture capital or private equity firm, ask  yourself this question: Would my firm have hired Calacanis, even as an EIA/EIR? I'm not saying that Sequoia is right about bringing on the fractious Mr. C., but I'm almost certain that very few others would even try the experiment.

This is your 3rd post in the last year with the Venkman quote.

Let's benchmark.

I tried the painfully slow movable type search built into your site and it took 34 seconds:
http://www.kedrosky.com/mt/mt-search.cgi?IncludeBlogs=1&search=dogs+and+cats+living

Google - 2 results - doesn't have today's post but takes less than a second (.24 according to their page):
http://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Apaul.kedrosky.com+%22dogs+and+cats+living%22

Yahoo comes back in .51 secs, but has 2 duplicate results.
http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=site%3Apaul.kedrosky.com+%22dogs+and+cats+living%22

Live.com (MSN) comes back in under a second. 2 correct results:
http://search.live.com/results.aspx?q=site%3Apaul.kedrosky.com+%22dogs+and+cats+living%22

Maybe you should outsource the search box?
