Where is the Norton Utilities of Cell Phones?

An article in this morning’s WSJ got me thinking: Where is the Norton Utilities of cell phones? The idea that SMS text remains on your cellphone for months — even if deleted — is an eye-opener.

People might be surprised to hear that a record of
a text message stays in a phone even after it has been sent or even
deleted. How long do old messages remain in a phone’s memory?

It depends on how active a texter you are. For average
users, messages will stay a couple of months. For more-active
messagers, it might be just two weeks.
