Director Robert Altman Has Died
Sad news. One my favorite film directors has died:Film director Robert Altman dies at 81 Altman, whose films include "The Player," "M*A*S*H," and "Nashville," revealed earlier this year that he had been the recipient of a heart transplant approximately 10 years ago. While Altman made many films that I enjoy, and you'll see the words "maverick" and "overlapping dialogue" a lot in obits, I have always been overly fond, on an admittedly film-geek technical level, of his bravura "Watch Ma, no cuts!" opening homage to Touch of Evil in his film The Player:
