A Webroot IPO, and Spyware Uber Alles
Lycos is reporting that "spyware" is the number one search term on that service this week. It coincides with my conviction that consumer interest continues to grow in anti-spyware tools, privacy protections, etc., as they become more concerned, rightly or wrongly, of the perceived risks in the digital world around them.As personal testimony, I even got around to installing Webroot's Windows Washer this week. That company remains very nicely positioned, an ideal candidate to go public in 2007 under my IPO resurgence thesis.

man is your thesis proving true. Counterpane got bought by BT. SourceFire filed. In addition to Webroot, also watch for Fortinet and Barracuda.
