Quiz: Stock Ticker Letters
As an entirely unrelated part of another recent project I was messing around with a list of stock tickers. So, some quiz questions. As always, highlight after the question mark on each line to see the answer:- Which first-letter is most popular among U.S. stock tickers? "C" is most popular. "A", which I thought would be most popular, comes in second place.
- Which first-letter of a ticker is the most unpopular? "Y" with only 15 companies using it as the first letter of their ticker.
- Which first letter is the most sought after, in percentage terms? In other words, if you go after a different ticker than the first letter of your company name, what letter do you go to? "X" is way ahead as the most popular.
- Which first letter is the least sought after, in percentage terms? In other words, if you go after a different ticker than the first letter of your company name, what letter do you tend to avoid? "Q" is way ahead as the most abandoned.

TOmmy -- That's interesting. THey work fine in Firefox here on Windows.
