Fun with Mobile Apps
You need read no further than this article in TelecomAsia to get a sense the delirious and prodigious speciation going on in the world of wireless and mobile. It's heartening, if a little overwhelming, like this place-calls-to-the-future app:From Web services company CDyne, a Web-based app that allows you to call yourself in the future. Really!
The basic object is to schedule a call in advance by going to the callthefuture.org Web site and filling out the appropriate fields, which includes the time you want the call placed and the text of a message you want to send. When it's time, the server will call the number and text-to-speech software reads out the message to the caller.
