A YouTube IPO Gets More Likely
News this morning that Yahoo Treasurer Gideon Yu is joining YouTube as CFO makes it yet more likely that the video site will go public, and do it sooner rather than later. Yu has the right skills, has been around public companies for some time, and is a good financial frontman for the company. My bet? An S-1 filing in the first quarter of 2007.

I think they first gotta figure out how they are going to make money, sustain it, and hold off the competition before they go for the IPO.
They most likely do not meet the listing requirements for NASDAQ, even if they were dumb enough to want to try. Look what happened to Vonage, and Vonage actually has customers and revenues.

Would be interesting to see how they "window dressing" the financial projections.
Let's pray not another Vonage again.
