Ah, Dr. Strangelove, one of my favorite movies.
interesting post - thanks. I wonder how a group of people - albeit highly intelligent people - can glance 14 years into the future and develop a matrix of even limited validity. Still, it's nice to hear these thoughts... What would be really interesting is pulling out RAND projections from 10 or 15 years back...
Where is Britain on that list? Britain is already a leader in many of these categories. Seems sort of strange. In addition, as much as we all love to crack on the French, ditto with France who is a global leader in basic research.

And what's with this radio-frequency tagging of people all about? Doesn't this sound like a conspiracy on the part of influential government agencies to "encourage" the development of such technologies to monitor the population for control purposes?
at least at Gartner we couched our projections with probabilities.. and assigned a prob of 0.0 that a 300 page report would be downloadable for free!
It is quite a piece of work when you look at the scope way beyond IT
I've already got a sensor in my underware.

i much prefer the BLAND corporation, and its ongoing work to address the mineshaft gap.
