Who's PAR Capital Management?
So ... Zillow has landed $25-million from Boston-based PAR Capital Management. Okay, who the heck are these guys? They have a minimal web presence (designed in Frontpage, ick), own public stocks, do some unusual deals (large and small), and a 2005 article calls them a hedge fund. What are these people doing in Zillow?

Smells like a hedge fund to me. Minimal web presence and tons of cash.
Boston based HF. Very fundamental and value oriented. Owned 13.5m shares of US Airways in April.
Just a guess, but I think they are trying to make money.
Paul,
They're a hedge fund. This is another example of hedge funds looking to do more VC/private equity investing; an issue you questioned a few months ago (incorrectly).
Almost 8% of hedge fund investments went into private deals over the last year according to the HFA if I'm not mistaken.
There's excess capital EVERYWHERE.

Richard Barton connection. They funded Expedia I think.
