Concentric Circles of Web 2.0 Heaven
Sparked by James Fallows' strange Technology Review piece about going "all Web 2.0, all the time", Tim O'Reilly has some concrete musings up about what makes something a next generation web app -- and what doesn't. (In short: A full-bore W2 app is a data-eating and excreting combination of Internet parasite and host.)While fairly reasonable and straightforward, Tim's circles of Web 2.0 heaven are certain to be controversial. The only thing techies fight about more than ill-defined subjects is newly defined ones.
