Notes from Here and There
Some things worth reading that I don't have time to do more than a drive-by on:- An engineer's eye inside view of Google: Somehow the place seem both bureaucratic and disorganized.
- The May Comscore data is out on traffic to top web properties: YouTube nearly doubled its traffic month-over-month; social networks rule; and funky new fast-growers like TopTVBytes and BigFishGames.
- Online advertising and audience targeting company SpecificMEDIA (its Retargeting.com business is also interesting) gets funding from Enterprise Partners.
- Graffiti handwriting recognition technology continues to drive patent litigation.

This must be a definition of "rule" with which I've previously been unacquainted.
Michael -- The comment was intended to be deflating and ironic wrt social network hyperbole, as in "social networks rule, dood", but my inflection apparently didn't make it through as clearly as I intended.

Isn't "bureaucratic and disorganized" sort of an oxymoron? My impression was that they are shooting more for creative chaos.
