Screenshots and More on Google Spreadsheets
Google Spreadsheets is now up, sort of. While there is no link from the company's Google Labs page, there is a working URL at www.google.com/googlespreadsheets/tour1.html that currently takes you to a trial signup. Here are some screenshots from the app:

Thanks Dave. Haven't had a look at it yet, but appreciate the insights.
P.
been playing with this, its comparable to the other online spreadsheets (editgrid, numsum). in general this is a toy app, i'm not sure who will be using it or why. it would be irresponsible to store real company data on a google server with no assurance who can access it and how (there is no encryption). its also unlikely that this tool could even digets a real-world spreadsheet. the DOM tree was not designed to digest a ten thousand row spreadhseet.
You can get Google Spreadsheets invites on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=9738259333

I signed up last night and got my invite this morning (9:13 am CST). Logged in...no problem. Imported a spreadsheet, it had GS had trouble converting a custom date format I use ("mm/dd/yy, ddd" -> no big deal ).
Seems fairly responsive, a bit more so than iRows. Over 200 formulas available. I could not find a stock quote function (anyone else?).
Can link formulas across sheets. Does not appear to support "array formulas" e.g., {=sum((a1:a20="q")*(b1:b20="r")*c1:c20} (big deal).
Of course, no pivot table functionality. Apparently a PT is in the iRows plan. Hope GS adds one as well (Pivot tables are by far the most powerful functionality in Excel)
Anyway, still playing around a bit. Be glad to report back if needed.
Thanks
Dave
