The West Coast Banking (and VC) Boom

There is a harrowing article in IDD about the West Coast tech banking boom under way, with fee-fattened bankers already having a nice time playing the M&A game. Of course, that re-ascension pales against the growth in the number of valley venture capitalists, which has gone from a few hundred to more than 1,200 in a decade.

As a related aside, IDD also has a good piece this week on the long-promised emergence of a real secondary market in private equity interests. It’s still coming. Or it’s already here. Or it’s over. Okay, no-one knows.
