Quote du Jour

From Disney's Bob Iger at Milken today:
Technology is to media companies what refrigeration was to Coca-Cola.
As usual, I have no idea (mostly) what it means, but I like it.

Two words: "warm Coke" (as in "Yuck, the soda is not cold")

Kind of ironic, don't you think, given the Pixar/Disney rivalry?

Technology is to Pixar what cola nuts were to Coca-Cola.

My guess: in the same way that getting fridges at point of sales was essential to Coke's market conquest and domination, Disney can't be content with producing/distributing movies; hence the strategy going forward will be to get the right "pipes" to reach the market and "held it hostage".
