Bausch & Lomb's Battle
Basuch & Lomb has finally come out with a statement to consumers about the ongoing controversy over fungal infections linked to its contact lens solution. Trouble is, the statement is opaque and unfriendly, like the PR team was taken over by lawyers:... data released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention identified a disproportionate association of a small number of events with ReNu with MoistureLoc manufactured in the U.S. As such, we are working with the FDA, the CDC and leading experts to try to identify if there is a causal relationship.A "disproportionate association"? Yeesh.

they could have used the term heteroscadicity...
talking about opaque - I prefer the word obtuse after the way the warden reacted to that term in the Shawshak Redemption...
The paid-by-the-syllable crew strikes again!

Just means that they (B&L) don't dispute that a correlation exists in the data, right? They just want to cooperate to determine the next level of association ... causality ... maybe it was a lousy MBA-type that contributed the jargon ... ;)
