Surfing the Ego Wave

I’m convinced that one largely undiscussed reason that people blog is so that people will write about their blog postings, thus producing fodder for ego feeds. And there’s nothing quite like reading your own ego feeds.

Anyway, the above is why a new (Ajaxy-y!) service called egoSurf is catnip for bloggers: They will work like deranged tabbies with their first taste of the stuff to get their “ego points” scores up. Nice idea.

[Update] Oh, and did I mention I score 12,131 when you search across the main domains I can think of? I’m such a popular fellow.
