More Names in Blogs Please
A gentle request: I would like more people to put their names in their feed titles. All too often when I'm pruning feeds, or even looking through my feeds for stuff from a particular blogger, I can't find the person, or I can't remember for the life of me who, say, "Rubber Chicken Lovenest" really is.Does that mean you have to have a wordy blog title, like "Paul Kedrosky's Infectious Greed"? Of course not. I was in a hurry and that's the best I could come up with. There are other, better ways to do this, ranging from the Gigaom or Scobleizer approach, one where you embed your name in a blog name, or you could put your name in a parenthetical at the end (e.g., Coolblog, by John Doe).
Whatever, but getting your name somewhere in your blog is smart branding -- not to mention something that would selfishly make my life much easier.

While we're on the subject of selfishly making our lives easier, could you put your own name in the "by" line of the feed? Right now my aggregator displays your feed author as:
By noemail@noemail.org (pk)
Great post! I agree 100%. The first thing I do when adding a new feed to my reader is change the title to the person's name. Some obscure reference in the blog title is not very good personal branding. Let us know who you are and keep your name at the forefront of our minds.
Ouch, thanks Pete. I've noticed that about my feeds as well, and it bugs me, but I never got around to figure out which line I was missing from my templates. Do you know off-hand? Is there a tag or equivalent that needs to be?
There, done. I hope this makes you happy. I have to admit "space4commerce by Brian Dunbar" looks odd but it will grow on me.
Done. Thank you Sensei :-P.

The branding thing doesn't necessarily work out... though my name is in my irritatingly wordy blog title, my blog gets linked variously as "Jason Truesdell", "jagaimo", "Pursuing My Passions", some variation of the above, or occasionally, as originally if somewhat tediously written.
But I do prefer seeing a name in there somewhere, because so many people seem to change their blog title on a whim, and I'm left wondering what I'm clicking on in my aggregator.
