I posted a somewhat flip entry here a few days ago containing an entertaining attack by hedge fund manager Daniel Loeb on SFBC International, a CRO. Lest it seem I’m in any way minimizing how horrible the underlying story is, I provide a link to this recent Bloomberg story for saddening context.

I’m not so sure I’d swallow that editorialization hook, line and sinker.
A cursory Google search on “David Evans” and “Bloomberg” shows that Mr. Evans isn’t always accurate in his reporting and has a penchant for publishing unbalanced one-sided vitriolic attacks on companies that might not altogether be based on “the whole truth and nothing but the truth”. It appears that he’s been involved in court cases where defamation has been alleged and Bloomberg was asked to retract the story.

Mr. Loeb, who you seem to have taken a fancy to, possesses enough capital to take advantage of.. or even cause such situations.
I don’t know that the two are linked, or that Daniel’s hedge fund is indeed short SFBC stock, but it does seem rather convenient that things are playing out the way they are.
From Bloomberg this AM …
“SFBC International … today announced that it has accepted the resignation of Jerry Seifer, effective immediately.”
Also, an outside board member has resigned “for personal health reasons.”
I’d love to chat with somebody about Internet tools to help control “Yellow Journalism” – I have creative juices flowing, I’m very peeved, and I have many years of serious application development.

I think it is only fair to read the company’s (per the company) independent report on this matter.
It’s on the top of the site.

Sounds like the Bloomberg writer my have embellished the story significantly.
Mr. David Evans is short of the thruth about what goes on at SFBC Int.
SFBC is in all aspect “corrupt” not to mention
Detective(s) of Metro dade Police dept. how about Miami Dade Code, Firechief, without Mr. Evans
SFBC Int would have distroyed if not already
our great country.
Come on, Evans broke these chains that kept
SFBC hidden, but it was Evans who showed us that SFBC is not really the only corrupt group here.
My god, code enforcement looked away, Fire code’s?
Ha, everyone knew about SFBC. All those who could of stoped it, what are we doing to those who let
SFBC get away with what they did?.
Those who care can’t afford to care
and those who can afford want more money suing
SFBC Int., and forget how they got to be so famous, not alone and certainly with help.
Evans has revealed how corrupt we all can be
some for the good and some worse than others.
But one thing is certain Miami Dade,
pharmaceuticals Comp. etc. made SFBC Int.
what it became, there not the only facility
who is in the wrong.
For one I can prove that tew Cardenas, etc.,
acted in error mildly said in there report to Senator; Grassley.
Anyone care to ask me to testify against Tew
or SFBC Int. etc.,? only if they can gain from it.
