More Fun with the Weather

Mike Singer’s wonderful Weather Watcher is one of my favorite pieces of software. I was reminded of that moments ago when the following warning for here in La Jolla popped up on my screen:

SURF WILL BUILD SIGNIFICANTLY TONIGHT AND WEDNESDAY MORNING. BY WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON SURF HEIGHTS BETWEEN 10 TO 15 FEET WITH SETS TO 18 FEET ARE POSSIBLE. THE COMBINED EFFECT OF SURF RUN UP AND HIGH TIDES COULD CAUSE SIGNIFICANT BEACH EROSION AND COASTAL FLOODING. LARGE BREAKING WAVES WILL IMPACT THE ENTRANCES TO HARBORS  AND BAYS.

Oooh, eighteen-foot sets? The route for my mid-day run tomorrow just got altered over to Black’s Beach — there’s nothing like watching surfers much braver and/or more foolhardy than me get pummelled by triple-overhead sets.
