Who or what is Jeny Elkind? According to BlogPulse’s list of the most popular … well, everything in the blog-o-sphere in 2005, this was the most popular blog post of the year:
LJ | service “10 last readers” suspendedeng : Robin has switched off script the reason – a big overloading of his dead server and not informed anybody. So, I stopped answering any comments on that post. Please, take my sincere apologizes. I promise never ever to introduce for public any programs, scripts, etc., connected with Live Journal and written by me in cooperation with untrustworthy and unreliable persons.
I’m guessing — and this is is a complete guess — that Ms. Elkind had hosted a script here for posting the “last ten readers” of your site to your LiveJournal site. That sort of thing is prone to heavy abuse by blog spammers (they get to see their site name in lights instantly), so it would appear the script is now gone.
It speaks volumes that this, according to BlogPulse, would be the most popular blog post of the year.

I think “Jeny” is a guy, probably pronounced “Yeni” in English. It’s hard to tell from the picture at http://elkind.net/about.php, but my understanding is that a Russian woman’s last name would probably end in “a,” and that when somebody writes “Почему Ñ Ð¾Ñ‚ÐºÐ»ÑŽÑ‡Ð¸Ð» комментарии к предыдущей запиÑи” the grammar implies that the writer is male. But I never mastered Russian, so…FWIW.
i’m guy, yes
