The Powder Road & the Rise of Webumentaries

While most people still view webumentaries through the lens of big-budget 1990s boondoggles, there is no denying that at their best they are, especially when done in bottoms-up grass-roots fashion, wonderful uses of the web for the creation and distribution of unique content. My favorite current example: The Power Road, a beautiful site about a road trip done by some tireless powder-seeker skiers who voyage from Colorado to Alaska.

  1. That site rocks. Got my eye on a similar round the world project. We’ll wait for this bubble to pop first;-)
In the meantime another “webumentaries”, that word doesn’t really roll off the tongue, is http://www.climbsepu.com/. Pretty cool story, although the presentation isn’t as polished as The Power Road.
