Playing with Web 2.0 Beta Stuff

In playing with a couple of interesting Web 2.0–ish beta apps today, I got to think about how software pre-market testing nomenclature has deflated somehow. Beta is the new shipped product, alpha is the new beta, and a five-minute high-order bit is the new alpha.
