Blinkx Goes to News Corp.

According to the L.A. Times, it is Blinkx that is the search engine object of Rupert Murdoch’s acquisition intentions. Fair enough, given the startup’s focus on rich media search, but not exactly the sort of centi-million dollar acquisition that many were thinking after I posted the rumor here last week:

News Corp. is in negotiations to buy Blinkx, a privately held Internet search company based in San Francisco, according to people close to the world’s fourth-largest media giant.
